The very things we walk by everyday in the world are thing that stand as structures underpinning the functioning of western consumer society. These invisible or ignored systems such as factories, electrical plants and gas stations are things we deny coming to grip with; we want to pretend our wealth nd material well being comes from an invisible fountain, so that we can go about our lives with the myth of control and self-determination that we feel is our right as westerners. We do not want to know that something dirty is appening beneath our veil of self illusion.
I want to bring people face to face with this so they are confronted with the reality. I also want people to see the strange beauty that can be seen in these objects. We all want a clean suburban lawn as the foundation of our lives.
